First Wednesday of Advent – swords and spears

This one’s a bit choppy, but I believe a good word. Today, you and I don’t use swords and spears to defend ourselves, or to get what we want from another, but we do have a tool that is sharp, cutting and as deadly as a sword…our words.The coming of the Messiah transforms our swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks.
