Our God is the source of all patience and comfort, the very things we need to maintain hope. Remain connected to God and you’ll have the resources needed for a life of hope. Have a great Thanksgiving. I’m grateful for you! Debby

Good morning. Don’t we always need hope? Doesn’t it seem as if hope is something that needs to be guarded? That can be easily deflated? Let’s talk about how we can keep it kindled. Love, D

Paul gives the reason why we should please our neighbor and not ourselves. Remember, though, our pleasing the other is because we have been cared for in great abundance by our loving God. Love, D

When Paul talks about pleasing our neighbor, he’s not suggesting being a people pleaser. That type of behavior is for our benefit, not theirs. He gives another reason for pleasing our neighbor. Check it out! Love you, D

If we are to please our neighbor, not ourselves, doesn’t that make us a doormat? Nope! Check it out.

We are free to “not please ourselves” because we know God will take care of us. People who strive to accommodate their own interests, do so out of a deficit, a fear. As children of a loving and good heavenly Father, we can live from abundance not lack. I will talk more about this tomorrow, I hope.

Romans 15:1 “we ought not to please ourselves.” In so many ways we strive to accomodate our own opinions, desires and interests, rearranging our lives and relationships to make sure we come out on top. And as promised, lots of tongue-tied-ness in this video. I wish I hadn’t committed to not editing the minute. (hehe).

Good morning, dear ones. Paul teaches us that we who are strong, need to come along side those that are weak. This is a spiritual discipline. Hear my corny example and tell me what you think. Love, Debby

Today we begin a look at Romans 15. Each of us has natural abilities, or gifts that we have developed into strengths; things we do, or the way we think that are ours without any effort or thought on our part. eg a talent for drawing, a fast running pace. etc. We’re going to talk about how to use these strengths!
