Third Sunday of Advent – Advent repentance

Good morning, dear ones. Advent reminds us that God will not tolerate evil forever. The day is coming when Jesus will return with a fierce anger against the enemy’s activity. Take hope. Much love, Debby

Second Friday of Advent – an Advent sign

Isaiah 7:14 God gives a sign of his intention for humankind: Immanuel, God with us! Live today, knowing that God’s plan is to live with you, go about your daily life with you; go shopping with you, drive to work with you. God wants to be with you! Love, D

Second Wednesday of Advent – an Advent woe

Advent tells the truth (as Isaiah declared in chapter 6, “Woe is me, I am lost, a man of unclean lips.”) the whole truth (“yet my eyes have seen the King!) and nothing but the truth – God graciously makes a way for us to bear God’s presence! Thank you and Amen. Debby

Second Tuesday of Advent – an Advent warning

Isaiah 5:24 “Their root will become rotten, and their blossom go up like dust; for they have rejected the instruction of the Lord and despised the word of the Holy One.” Advent reminds us that God’s word is to be received and loved, otherwise all our best efforts shall wither and die. What is God’s word? Jesus. He is logos, the word became flesh.

Second Monday of Advent – good coffee and good wine

Isaiah 5:8-12 reminds us that all the good things life offers can hurt us unless we acknowledge God’s deeds and God’s works. Enjoy these good things in the context of God’s great love and provision. (verse 11 is a little too close for comfort! hehe) Love, D

First Saturday of Advent – the Branch and its fruit

Isaiah 4:2 “On that day, the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious.” He is the vine and we are the branches. Advent reminds us of God’s intention for our lives: to be connected to the source of all beauty. His beauty and glory flows into you today! D
